A classic Greek-style simple salad

This classic Greek-style summer salad is an absolute delight. To get the most out of this recipe, use fresh ingredients, like sun-soaked tomatoes and high-quality feta, paired perfectly with the light dressing
Ingredients (i)
400 g tomatoes - remove the stem, cut in half horizontally, cut in four from the top, making eight triangular pieces
1 cucumber - peel four lanes, cut in quarters through the non peeled area, then cut into slices of 1 centimetre - rinse before use
1 red onion - peel, cut in half and cut into thin slices
80 g black olives
100 g feta cheese - crumble, using your fingers
2 tablespoons olive oil extra virgin
0,5 tablespoon cane sugar
1 tablespoons dried oregano
0,5 tablespoon lemon juice - freshly squeezed
salt - to your taste
black pepper - freshly ground from a pepper mill, to your taste
Instructions
- Prepare all ingredients according to the list above and read through the recipe before starting
- Add (i) into a bowl400 g tomatoes, 1 cucumber, 1 red onion, 80 g black olives, 100 g feta cheese
- Turn everything gently over
- Mix (i) together and drizzle it over the salad2 tablespoons olive oil extra virgin, 0,5 tablespoon cane sugar, 1 tablespoons dried oregano, 0,5 tablespoon lemon juice, salt, black pepper
- Turn everything gently over
- Serve
Notes
You can use brown olives instead of the black olives as you prefer
The feta cheese can also be served on the side or placed on the top instead of mixed into the salad
Letting the salad rest improves the flavour
