This easy and delicious creamy courgette gratin is a great accompaniment to any meal but can also be enjoyed as a stand-alone dish with a side salad and fresh bread

  • Prepare all ingredients according to the list above and read through the recipe before starting
  • Preheat oven to without fan200 °C
  • Heat a large frying pan and add (i)
    2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Add (i) cover with a lid and cook gently for 10 minutes (timer), stirring now and then
    800 g courgette, 4 sprigs thyme, salt, black pepper
  • Take off the heat when the courgettes have softened but still al dente
  • Transfer it to an ovenproof dish
  • Whisk (i) together
    150 ml heavy cream 36%, 1 teaspoon plain flour T55
  • Pour the mix over the courgettes
  • Season (i)
    salt
  • Sprinkle (i) on top
    100 g gruyère cheese
  • Bake in the oven for 25 minutes (timer), or until golden brown and bubbling
  • Decorate (i) and serve
    thyme

Notes

You can replace the gruyère cheese with a similar type of cheese
