Sirloin steak

Short facts : It is a premium cut known for its tenderness and rich beefy flavour

Sirloin steak also known in many European countries as faux-filet (France), rumpsteak (Germany) or simply sirloin, where in the US it is roughly equivalent to a New York Strip. It is a premium cut taken from the upper middle of the cow and is highly praised for having a rich, savoury flavour and a distinctive fine edge of fat that ensures juiciness when cooked.

It is a popular and flavourful cut of beef and is known for its tenderness and rich beefy flavour. Sirloin steaks are typically boneless, with a moderate amount of marbling which adds to the juiciness and flavour of the meat when prepared. When prepared properly, sirloin steak can be tender and juicy, making it a favourite choice for grilling, pan-searing or broiling. It is best cooked quickly over high heat and not overcooked, typically to medium-rare or medium.

It is often seasoned with salt, pepper and other spices before being cooked to order. Sirloin steak pairs well with various side dishes such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.
