Prepare all ingredients according to the list above and read through the recipe before starting
Preheat oven to 200 °C
Arrange (i) in layers in an ovenproof dish
1200 g potatoes
Keep the best looking slices for the top layer
Season with (i)
salt, black pepper
Pour (i) over
500 ml heavy cream 36%
Bake in the oven for 60 minutes (timer) until golden brown

Notes
If you want to save on the calories you can use half cream and half milk but you will lose some of the creaminess and the traditional flavour of the dish
